Kick-off Meeting Announcement

Kick-off Meeting Announcement

The UNMUTE project has officially kicked off!

Across Europe, many young people feel disconnected from democratic life, with limited spaces to participate, outdated civic education, and barriers that prevent marginalized youth from engaging in society. UNMUTE aims to change this by empowering young people to critically reflect on democracy, learn about their rights, and actively shape civic life in their communities.

UNMUTE will engage young people aged 14-18 and 18-30, with a strong focus on marginalized youth, including migrants, low-income youth, and LGBTQIA+ communities, while promoting gender-balanced participation. Youth workers, educators, and policymakers will also be involved to ensure long-term impact.

Through research, storytelling, co-creation labs, democracy bootcamps, simulations, debates, and civic reflection activities, UNMUTE will create youth-friendly spaces for dialogue, learning, and action, amplifying youth voices and strengthening democratic participation, social cohesion, and a sense of European belonging.

The UNMUTE project is co-funded by the CERV-2025-CITIZENS-CIV program and implemented across Spain, Cyprus, Italy, and Lithuania.

Intercultural Street Festival

Intercultural Street Festival

Our Flavors for Change workshops and food events travelled to Limassol this November! We joined the Intercultural Festival of Kourion, organized by the Municipality, where we had the chance to share two beautiful cooking experiences with the community.

First, we hosted a Syrian mahalepi live demonstration, showcasing a traditional dessert loved across the region. Then, we invited participants into a hands-on cooking lab, where together we prepared Riz bel Bazal, a comforting dish of rice with green peas, chicken, and beef. A total of 350+ portions of food and dessert where then shared with the festival’s participants.

A huge thank you to the Kourion of Ipsonas for the invitation and warm hospitality 🧡

Kofinou Reception Center

Kofinou Reception Center

Every Friday morning, refugee women in Kofinou reception center come together to learn, share and support each other. The space is full of conversation, questions, and moments of discovery.

We’ve been working on practical digital skills, everyday tasks and tools that can help with future opportunities. Each session is hands-on and shaped by what the women want to explore.

It’s been inspiring to see everyone growing more confident week by week.
